Background and experience
Tobias initially joined the Group in 2014 as a Risk Manager, where he assumed responsibility for day-to-day risk activities in Jersey. During his first few years in the business, Tobias played a pivotal role in building out the Group’s risk function. He also worked in partnership with clients and their relationship teams to effectively identify and manage risk within their portfolios.
Tobias has since progressed through the ranks, culminating in his promotion to Associate Director in 2018; a role in which he oversees all risk management activity group-wide.
Beginning his financial services career as an Associate at PwC in Jersey, Tobias qualified as an accountant in 2012. He then moved to Barclays in London, accepting a role within the bank’s internal audit department. There, he gained a wealth of experience in asset management and regulatory audits across Europe. He also worked on numerous bespoke projects with the SEC in the United States, before eventually returning to Jersey to accept his role with the Aztec Group.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Management from Cardiff University.
- Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Outside of the office
Tobias is an avid supporter of Swindon Town FC, and endeavours to follow them across the length and breadth of the country. Tobias is also a keen runner, and completed the Berlin Marathon in 2016 as part of a team sponsored by the Aztec Group.
