Senior Financial Reporting Manager – Real Assets - Aztec Southampton
The purpose of this role is to provide technical accounting, regulatory reporting expertise and training in conjunction with the Associate Director of Accounting to our Real Assets team based in Southampton. Our Real Assets portfolio includes various clients with complex and varied portfolio fund structures including holding and property SPVs.
The successful candidate will be a senior hire responsible for the delivery and development of the Real Assets and Infrastructure Fund Services, in a manner that is aligned to the Aztec Group brand values and strategic business goals.
+ Responsible for managing the service delivery for the UK Real Assets business along with the Associate Director
+ Lead a team of Financial Reporting Managers, administrators and accountants
+ Manage the accounting of the more complex requirements of clients’ affairs within a team including the accounting of fund structures and property companies
+ Quality / high-level review following the managers’ review of fund accounts, holding company accounts and property company accounts ensuring that all outputs are completed to a high standard
+ Assist the managers with the review of all aspects of accounting matters for a team incorporating investor reports, management accounts, statutory financial statements and ad-hoc investor queries
+ Quality / high-level review of UK VAT returns and CIS reporting to HMRC previously reviewed by the managers
+ Oversight of administration, payments and cash management across structures
+ Work closely with the managers to manage the audit process for all clients within the team, building strong relationships with audit firms
+ Ensure the accounting requirements and reporting deadlines for a whole team are met, overseeing planning, scheduling, and monitoring of workloads
+ Act as a mentor to Financial Reporting Managers and supervise and assist in the training and development of staff
+ Assist with the establishment and maintenance of UK fund and corporate entities
+ Act as highest authority on day-to-day queries and as “A” level 4-eyes signatory on administration matters, ensuring that company policy and professional and regulatory guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality service is provided to clients and outside contacts
+ Act as an “A” signatory on client payments
+ Manage the on-going training and development requirements of team members
+ Participate in client fee negotiations
+ Contribute towards the business-as-a-whole, for instance, in identifying improvements in policies and procedures that apply across the business; create a holistic approach to administration
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
+ Considerable fund and / or property accounting experience supported by a relevant professional qualification (ACCA or ACA)
+ Sound technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)
+ Ideally a good understanding of real estate, infrastructure and private debt asset classes
+ Computer literacy, word processing and spread sheet skills are essential. Experience with Yardi and / or e-Front is an added advantage
+ Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
