Aztec Group has become one of the first in its field to be formally certified with ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) 27001:2013 status – the leading industry standard for IT security. Our new certified status applies across all of our offices, demonstrating a truly multi-jurisdictional platform of best practice.
Following an independent audit conducted by PwC and a certification process taking several months, we recently received ISO 27001 status which formalises IT security checks and procedures and ensures that IT security is at the forefront of our service offering. ISO 27001:2013 is the best known standard for providing requirements for an information security management system and one that provides a systematic approach to managing corporate information and governance.
Through having a formally documented information security management system which has been independently assessed, the Aztec Group is able to demonstrate that it is committed to promoting best practice information security throughout the Group, providing management and clients with confidence that the standard’s recommendations have been followed.
John Gavey, Chief Operating Officer, said “We’ve always invested both time and resource to ensure that our IT platform is a priority and this certification demonstrates that we’re ahead of the curve. We take a proactive approach and have outlined a programme of continuous improvement that will allow us to keep providing leading edge technology to fund managers, investors and corporate entities”.
Vernon Pool, Head of Business Consultancy at Sapphire, who provided advice and guidance on achieving the certification commented “The team at the Aztec Group were focussed; they worked hard to streamline their processes and achieve certification to the standard in a relatively short period of time. By achieving certification to the standard, the Aztec Group is proving to its clients that it takes a proactive and serious approach to information security.”
