We are delighted to announce, following our mid-year performance reviews, we have made 83 promotions across the business, including five new director and associate director appointments.
These promotions reflect both the opportunities created within our business as result of our continued organic growth and recognition of the professional development achievements of our accountancy, administration and support teams. As a business, we are well known for our commitment to the professional development of our ‘home grown talent’ through our dedicated learning and development strategy and in-house Aztec Academy. In fact, 80% of our employees are either qualified or studying towards professional qualifications.
The senior promotions include private equity specialists Erique Mvalo and Michael Wood, who have been promoted to directors in Jersey. Joining the team in 2015, Erique works predominantly on fund of funds and secondaries structures. He plays an integral role in the day-to-day management of this significant portfolio, with a primary focus on quality control, operational improvements and client service, whilst also overseeing one of the accounting teams. Michael joined as a Manager in 2006 and has led a number of client teams during his time with the business. As operational lead for our Softbank team, Michael has been vital in the onboarding and expansion of ‘the world’s largest ever technology fund’, overseeing his team’s involvement in the day-to-day running of the mega tech fund.
In Luxembourg, Stephen Osmont has been promoted to director, while Claudio Padovan is now an associate director. Stephen joined our growing business in Luxembourg last year to help bolster our debt offering in the region. He now leads the Private Debt team in Luxembourg, servicing the full spectrum of debt funds and special purpose vehicles (SPVs). Claudio joined the Aztec Group in May 2015 and has been fundamental to the growth of our anti-money laundering and compliance teams across our offices. A senior member of our Group compliance team, Claudio works closely on our overarching compliance strategy and its implementation across Europe.
Guernsey based Cara McErlane has also been promoted to associate director. Since joining the Group from KPMG in 2013, Cara has been essential to the ongoing development of the business and team on the Island. Cara specialises in private equity within the mid-market sector and is responsible for the management of some of our long-standing client relationships.
Edward Moore, Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Aztec Group, commented:
“83 promotions across the Group is a huge testament to the individual success of each employee and I am really pleased and proud of everyone who has been recognised in this round of promotions. Each one is richly deserved. The professional development of our employees is a top priority for us, we really want to see the people who work here flourish to reach their professional potential and goals.”
