We’ve appointed our first Chief People Officer

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Virginia Rothwell as our first Chief People Officer. Virginia will drive the Aztec Group’s people agenda, while leading our multi-jurisdictional HR, employee engagement and training teams.

Virginia joins us from JLL, one of the world’s leading real estate firms, where she held the position of UK HR Director since 2014. In this role, she sat on the JLL UK Board and led the firm’s people strategy.

Virginia has enjoyed an international career in sectors such as technology, professional services and retail banking, where she has developed people agendas for multinational firms. She also brings experience in marketing and business development to the Group. Prior to her time with JLL, Virginia spent 13 years with BT in London and the Asia Pacific region, where she directed the people strategy and led a number of large-scale business transformation projects.

In her new role, Virginia will sit on both the Aztec Group Executive Committee and the People Committee, with Group-wide responsibility for performance management and recruitment disciplines, people-focused change processes, reward strategies, professional development and succession planning. Based in the UK, she will regularly travel to all of our offices.

Commenting on Virginia’s appointment, the Aztec Group’s Founder and CEO, Edward Moore, said:

“We’re delighted to announce that Virginia has joined us as our first Chief People Officer. The Group has a proud record of investing in people and providing an environment in which they can grow and achieve their career aspirations, so this is a very significant appointment for us. Virginia has extensive international experience in human resources, and will play a key role in ensuring we live by our values as our business continues to develop, driving our people strategy to be the best employer we can possibly be.”

    Virginia Rothwell added:

“I’m hugely excited to have joined the Aztec Group. There is so much about the company and its values that resonates with my passion for putting people first. I’m looking forward to working with the entire team to evolve and shape our people focus, ensuring that the unique Aztec Group culture goes from strength to strength as our business continues to grow.”
