Ed Bellew, Associate Director

Ed leads a relationship team and oversees the provision of administration services to a number of significant real estate clients. As a director of several entities and subsidiary companies, Ed has vast experience of all elements of real estate transactions. A large part of his role involves advising boards on operational and administration matters relating to their structures, as well as guiding clients through the operational challenges of regulatory and legislative changes.

Background and experience

Ed joined the Group in 2017 from BlackRock, following the investment management company’s decision to entrust the management of their Channel Islands operations to the Aztec Group. In his previous role, he was a director with overall responsibility for BlackRock’s Jersey office, sitting on the board of 14 entities and seven property companies and overseeing US$16 billion of assets under management and principal distribution of BlackRock’s European retail funds.

Originally from the UK, Ed moved to Jersey in 2008 to join BlackRock. Initially accepting the role of Vice President, his responsibilities included oversight of transfer agency, fund accounting, corporate governance, finance, tax and legal and compliance. Prior to pursuing a career in asset management, Ed held other positions in the finance, sales and marketing sectors.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in Investment Management from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Outside of the office

Ed enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and watching and participating in sports, particularly golf and cricket – the latter of which he indulges as a regular for the Aztec Group’s own team.
