Grant Collins, Director

Working alongside our corporate services directors across our European locations, Grant is helping drive forward our exciting Corporate Services offering in line with the Aztec Group brand values.

A chartered accountant with strong relationship building skills and a passion for training and development, Grant is focused on growing his team to support the Group’s goals to deliver a recognisably differentiated and superior Corporate Services offering. The placing of directors, such as Grant, within each of the Group’s locations is key to enabling the Group to deliver an appropriately structured product which best satisfies client requirements.

Training as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Jersey, Grant specialised in the audit of trust companies and special purpose vehicles, including employee benefit trusts. While there, Grant also took on the role of Channel Island Training Manager, where he implemented a training framework which supported students through the exam process, and subsequently increased pass rates from 40% to 100% within the first full year of operation. With this background experience, it was the Aztec Academy which was one of the main attractions for Grant joining the Group; “The Group’s in-house training infrastructure demonstrates the importance it places on development as well as validating that they take their staff seriously. In too many organisations training is undertaken only when there is nothing else to do, when in fact it is vital to growing a business”, he explains.

In his most recent role prior to joining the Group, Grant was Head of Shareholder Solutions, a service which he grew out of the corporate services department and as a result developed it into the company’s most profitable sector. Shareholder solutions focused primarily on Employee Benefit Trusts and pensions which were the key areas of growth, but also included wider Registrar and company secretarial activities. In the Corporate Services department, he was a director on a variety of ‘MOME’ structures and more conventional SPV’s and companies, as well as managing teams to deliver company secretarial, administration and accounting services. Previous to this Grant ran a ‘private equity’ style family office, and held the position of Head of Risk and Compliance for International Barclays locations. Grant’s experience has provided him with varied and in depth understanding of corporate services as well as the wider business environment but, most importantly to him, it has given him the chance to form and nurture a range of different relationships with colleagues and clients. With the Group having such a strong focus on its people it is this outlook which makes Grant a perfect fit for the Aztec Group.

Grant is a driven and proactive character which is reflected not only in his management style but also his passion for speed; he is the Chairman for hill climbs and sprints as well as being a keen rally driver.

Grant is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Finance from Plymouth University.
