Making the move to Aztec in 2008 to head up Business Development, James has been instrumental in raising the profile of the Group, from the Channel Islands’ best kept secret, to an award winning outsourced solutions business in Europe.
A down to earth individual, James grew up on his family farm in Norfolk. Breaking the trend from the family tradition, he read History at Bristol University before joining Barclays’ Graduate scheme in 1992. Fortunately for the Group, during his time at Barclays James was seconded to Guernsey, where he met Rob Jones and joined our team to set up our presence in London, the heart of European private equity.
“The services Aztec provides are tailored to the individual client rather than applying a one size fits all approach.”
“Anyone who has met James will know of his infectious energy and enthusiasm. Being the most optimistic person in the office, or most probably the Group, James sees the true potential in the services Aztec can provide and endeavours to understand the specific needs of a client’s business.” – Edward Moore, Chief Executive Officer.
James doesn’t believe in the hard sell, and neither does the Aztec Group. “We only take on clients that we think can really benefit from our services”, says James reflectively. “I think it is a strategy, which based on our client retention rate, has been proven to work.”
In addition to his Bachelor of Arts degree in History, James holds qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Bankers and Association of Corporate Treasurers.
