With a wealth of HR experience spanning governmental, retail banking and the Big Four, Joanna moved to the Group from a HR Manager role in 2013. Commenting on the HR team’s function within the business, Joanna summarises: “We look after the employees from recruitment through to on-boarding, induction and all the benefits that go with it, throughout their whole life cycle at the company.”
The Group works hard to maintain the strong staff retention rate of over 90%. Joanna shares that a contributing factor of such a stable workforce is the overall success of the Group; “It’s an exciting business to be in, we have grown and expanded to a number of European destinations since the Group’s inception in 2001 and there are numerous opportunities for personal and professional development.”
This focus on progression is what sparked the idea for the Aztec Academy, set up in 2012. The Academy, which originally focused on specialist skills and continued professional development, has expanded with the growth of the business and now offers a formal training programme that endeavours to fulfil all employees’ personal development requirements.

Joanna is qualified at SHL Levels A and B in Occupational Personality Testing and Questionnaires and is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
