With over 20 years’ experience in the funds sector, and having gained a Bachelor of Science degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, Mark moved back to Jersey and trained as a chartered accountant with PwC. Specialising in the audit of offshore funds, their managers and their administrators, Mark gained a wealth of knowledge in administering funds and later went on to roles at Maples Finance and Moore Management, working on a large variety of alternative asset class funds and structured finance transactions.
Moving to the Group in 2007, Mark is now responsible for our real asset and private debt offering. Commenting on the quality of the services the Group provides, Mark reflects “It’s about looking after both our clients and our staff together, hand-in-hand. In any business you can’t just look after one, as the other will slip, so by valuing both and holding each as equally important, we have kept onto our 90% staff retention rate and have never lost a client, a statistic which is almost unknown in this industry.”
“Mark’s determination to provide our award winning services shows in everything, the quality of his work, his dedication to exceeding client expectations and outside of work in his sporting achievements. If Mark puts his mind to something he’s likely to get it.” – Michelle McNaney, Director
With our staff retention also having a direct impact on the quality of the service we can provide, Mark comments: “By keeping our staff they gain experience of their client over the life of a fund and get to know the clients intricacies. That, combined with the dedication to provide quality in our teams, results in our first class services. We’re made up of a lot of bright and energetic people who want to get the job done.”
Mark’s determination isn’t just applied to delivering the Group’s services, but outside the office he partakes in various triathlons, marathons and other sporting events. Mark has represented the Aztec Group in the 2014 Financial Times Triathlon in London, where he came a competitive 6th, even beating our own relay team who took part individually.
