Background and experience
Before joining the Group in 2020, Peter was a Managing Director at RBS International, where he led the company’s Funds Banking activities across the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and Luxembourg. He led the development of the bank’s proposition for the alternative funds sector, focusing on lending, deposits, cash management, risk management and depositary services. As part of his role, Peter was accountable for all aspects of client relationship management and risk, including setting risk appetite, and managing a balance sheet of over £20bn of lending to the alternative funds and asset management sector.
Prior to this role, Peter spent eight years leading the Financial Institutions Group at RBS. He was accountable for the bank’s strategy, client relationship management, and risk appetite for non-life insurers, non-bank lenders, brokers, wealth managers, alternative funds and UK asset managers. While he was based in London, he had responsibility for the business across the UK, Jersey and Guernsey.
Before this, Peter was a founding member of the mid-market Leveraged Finance business at RBS. Over six years he successfully led a number of structured finance transactions, working with a range of mid to large European private equity sponsors, to support growing businesses with enterprise values of up to £500m.

An explorer at heart, Peter loves travelling to new countries, experiencing international cuisines and meeting new people. When he isn’t travelling, he enjoys keeping active by running and road cycling, as well as spending quality time with his family and friends.
